I have been on this green smoothie kick for a while now.  Every morning I wake up, besides having that glass of water with a lemon infusion, I make myself a green smoothie to last me till dinner time.  While I never understood how one can just drink fluids and not want to die from starvation, i put myself to the challange. I purchased J.J. Smith’s “10-day Green Smoothie Cleanse”. What a great and enjoy read. From that day on I haven’t stopped making green smoothies.

Well my skin looks and feels amazing. I have more energy then ever before not to mention that horrible feeling of being bloated!! Yuck!! I hated those morning and days when I looked in the mirror and didn’t understand why my stomach expanded as much as it did. I knew I had to change that.

The bloated feeling is gone, my stomach somewhat shrunk back to size.  Even the size portions of meals that i do consume are so small. Its GREAT!!!

Now lets talk about the benefits of the Green Smoothie:

  • Offer pure nutrition
  • Clearer skin
  • Most fruits and vegetables are high in vitamins A and C
  • Green smoothies are much healthier than fruit or vegetable juices. When juices are extracted, you get vitamins and minerals but no fiber. However, smoothies are made using the whole fruit/vegetable, so you get all the fiber in your drink.
  • Green smoothies are a great way to eat your veggies without even realizing it.
  • Green smoothies are easy and quick to make.
  • Green smoothies can be a good way to get kids to “eat” their vegetables.
  • Green smoothies will provide you with a lasting source of energy. Fruits are a good source of energy, but eaten alone will only provide short bursts of energy
  • Green smoothies are low in calories but very filling. Because they contain high amounts of water and fiber, they’ll make you feel as if you just ate a full meal. If you’re trying to lose weight, green smoothies will help fight hunger and cravings while helping the pounds melt off easier.
  • Green smoothies are easy to digest. Because they’re already blended and liquefied, smoothies are quicker to digest. After all, your body no longer needs to work so hard to “break down” the food in order to extract the nutrients. People who suffer from indigestion after eating a heavy meal will also benefit, as smoothies are filling but light.
  • Green smoothies will keep you hydrated. Although one should drink at least eight glasses of water a day.
  • If you’re suffering from constipation, a fiber-rich green smoothie won’t just fill you up and leave you that way. It helps at the other end, too. Aloe vera is a popular ingredient to help ease your digestive system into action
  • If you’ve ever felt the stab of heartburn or acid reflux, you know you’d drink just about anything to make it stop. Next time, try a green smoothie instead of plain water or milk. Green smoothies are naturally alkaline and might help to put out that burning pain in your chest.
  • Green smoothies are rich with chlorophyll which some natural health experts say enhances the immune system, purifies the blood and rejuvenates the body.
